Cheap climbing, now cheaper
The PEAK Steam deal takes the co-op climbing game from $7.99 to $4.95 in the US store, a 38% cut on a game that was never expensive. Steam lists the offer as ending on 15 November.
PEAK comes from Team PEAK and is published by Aggro Crab and Landfall, and it is exactly what the Steam page says: a co-op climbing game where you and up to three friends scale a mountain at the centre of a mysterious island. Steam lists multiplayer as friends-only, with proximity chat, and an offline single-player mode if you would rather fall alone.

The pitch for a group is the rope. You can help each other up ledges, or place ropes and climbing spikes to make the way easier for whoever follows. Every setback limits your stamina, so a bad fall costs the whole team time, not just the person who slipped.
A new island every day
Steam says the map rotates every 24 hours, so you can try the new layout each day or keep hammering the same island until it gives. The climb runs through four biomes, each with its own obstacles, and there are dozens of badges and cosmetics to unlock. We think that daily reset is a big part of why a $4.95 game can keep a group busy longer than its price suggests.

Here is our view: at $4.95, the only real cost is persuading three friends to install it, and that is a far easier sell than the full $7.99. If your group already has a rotation of cheap Steam co-op picks, put PEAK in it. Our guide to the best co-op games on PC covers the bigger names, and For The King at $1.99 and Wayfinder at $2.49 are two other low-priced Steam deals we have covered.
What your PC needs
The system requirements are modest. Steam lists a Windows 10 minimum of an Intel Core i5 at 2.5 GHz, 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 or RX 6600 XT, with 16 GB of storage. The recommended spec asks for Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 2060 or RX 7600 XT. It is Windows-only on Steam, with no Mac or Linux build listed.
The $4.95 price is the US Steam price, and it is a time-limited sale. If you were going to buy it anyway, we would not wait past the 15 November cutoff.
