Twenty-four dollars to start
Steam has No Man’s Sky at $23.99 in the US store, 60% off the regular $59.99, and the offer runs until Monday 9 November at 18:00 UTC (20:00 SAST). We checked the store page on the morning of Wednesday 4 November (about 07:20 SAST), and there’s no membership to sign up for: it’s a straight Steam discount.
The timing is neat. Hello Games shipped its Forsaken update on 28 October, and the Steam page lists it as a major update. In the same post the studio says last month’s COSMOS update marked the game’s ten-year anniversary. The store description says the game now includes all major updates since launch, with Forsaken the latest on its list, so the base game is the whole way in. If you want our take on what Forsaken itself does, we wrote about the Forsaken update last week.

What you’re actually buying
This is the base game, released on 12 August 2016 by Hello Games, who are also the publisher. Steam lists Windows and macOS, online co-op, cross-platform multiplayer and full controller support, and it runs in standard and VR modes through SteamVR. Steam shows about 319,000 user reviews. The minimum PC spec is Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), an Intel Core i3, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060 3GB, RX 470 4GB or Intel UHD 630 graphics, and 15 GB of storage.
Steam also shows a five-item Hello Games Bundle on the same page at $26.59, which it marks as 76% off $109.95, with a “save 10% off all 5 items” bundle discount. Check the bundle contents before you decide it’s the better buy.If all you want is No Man’s Sky, the single game at $23.99 is the simple option.

Our call: buy before the clock runs out
We think $23.99 is an easy yes for anyone who has been circling this game. A $60 price tag against a decade of changes was always a hard sell on a hunch, and 60% off removes most of the risk. The sale has a hard end, and we wouldn’t wait on a better one: there’s no promise a better one is coming.
One practical note: if the install or an update misbehaves after you buy, our guide to verifying game files on Steam is the first thing to try. Price checked on Steam (US store) on 4 November 2026; deals can change, and prices in other regions may differ.
