Five bucks, fists out
Road Rash 30th Anniversary Edition is $4.99 on Steam in the US, half off the $9.99 list price, as of 6 November 2026. For the price of a coffee you get the 1996 PC motorcycle combat racer, now on Steam as its first digital release, where the point is to thrash rivals as much as to beat them.
What the anniversary edition adds
Electronic Arts describes the 30th Anniversary Edition as a restored release of the original. Steam lists these changes:
- A relicensed soundtrack with Soundgarden, Paw, Hammerbox, Monster Magnet, Swervedriver and Therapy?, playable during races.
- The dozens of FMV scenes restored from Source Master tapes found in EA’s vault in 2022, with an optional upscaled version.
- Up to 60 FPS, native controller support, windowed mode and cloud saves.

Old-school racing, old-school limits
The core game is the one from the 1996 original: 25 races across five levels, with five courses in each. It is Windows only on Steam, and online features need your EA and Steam accounts linked. Multi-player is listed too, including LAN PvP.
We think $4.99 is an easy impulse buy for anyone who remembers the original, and a fair gamble for anyone curious. If you want your violence more modern, The Outlast Trials is another Steam pick we recommended, and Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake is a sharper step up in polish.

Steam shows no end date for the discount, so there is no clock to beat, but deals can change. We would not wait for a lower price on a $9.99 game.
