Highly rated remake at $9.99
Resident Evil 4, Capcom’s 2023 remake, carries a Metacritic score of 91 on its Steam page, and Steam’s US store has it at $9.99, down from $39.99. We checked the price on 30 October 2026; the page says “SPECIAL PROMOTION! Offer ends 3 November.”
That is 75% off the standard edition. The Gold Edition is in the same promotion at 70% off. It bundles the base game with Separate Ways, where you play the story through Ada Wong’s perspective, and the Extra DLC Pack, which Steam lists as costumes, a filter, sunglasses, two Deluxe Weapons (Sentinel Nine and Skull Shaker), an ‘Original Ver.’ soundtrack swap and a Treasure Map expansion. Steam notes that the items in the set can be bought individually, so watch for duplicate purchases. We’d start with the $9.99 base game and add Ada’s campaign only if you finish it and want more.

The hardware bar is low. Capcom’s minimum spec is a Ryzen 3 1200 or Core i5-7500, 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1050 Ti or RX 560 with 4 GB of VRAM, and it estimates 1080p at 45fps on that tier with Prioritize Performance set. The recommended tier (Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7 8700, 16 GB, GTX 1070 or RX 5700) is rated at 1080p/60fps. Ray tracing needs at least an RTX 2060 or RX 6700 XT, and Capcom warns that framerates might drop in graphics-intensive scenes.
Steam lists it as Windows only, with full controller support. More than 73,000 English-language reviews put it at Overwhelmingly Positive. Capcom’s content notes flag frequent violence or gore. If you’re building a Steam haul before this one ends, our Telltale Walking Dead collection pick is another one on the clock.

The catch is the calendar and the region: this is US-store pricing, and the offer ends 3 November. We think a Metacritic 91 remake at under ten dollars is an easy yes for anyone who skipped it, and we’d buy before the offer lapses. Another recent pick of ours, the Hogwarts Legacy edition check, shows why the cheaper SKU isn’t always the right one, though here the base game is the sensible start. Price checked on Steam on 30 October 2026; deals can change.
