Rebirth for under eight dollars
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Switch 2 is $7.49 on the US Nintendo eShop, down from the regular $49.99. That is 85% off the second game of Square Enix’s remake trilogy. The sale started on 2 November at 17:00 UTC and ends on 17 November at 07:59 UTC, which is 11:59 p.m. Pacific on 16 November. Prices as of 8 November 2026; deals can change.

Rebirth picks up after Cloud and his friends leave Midgar, and Nintendo’s page promises a wider world to cross, from grassy plains by chocobo to places like Kalm and Nibelheim. It describes the battles as “a unique blend of action and strategy.” We think $7.49 is hard to argue with for a sequel this size, even if you only have a passing interest in the trilogy.
Know what you’re downloading
This is the Switch 2 version only. Nintendo’s page says the software is exclusively for Switch 2 and can’t be played on the original Switch. It released on 3 June 2026, supports TV, tabletop and handheld modes, and is listed at 91.5 GB, so clear the space first. A Digital Deluxe Edition is sold separately, and the page warns about duplicate purchases. Its Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade is also on sale, at $3.00 against a regular $20.00.

There’s also a free demo that runs from the start through the end of Chapter 2. Demo progress carries over to the full game, though not if you create full-game save data first.
Better if you played Remake first
Players with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade save data can claim bonus items in Rebirth: Summoning Materia Leviathan for the main story save and Ramuh for INTERmission. We covered Intergrade’s own Switch 2 discount in our Remake Intergrade Switch 2 deal post. If you’d rather start from the original, the original Final Fantasy VII is on sale on Switch too.
We’d buy before the 16 November deadline rather than wait. The sale has a hard end time, and at this price there’s little reason to hold off.
