Combat-first maps
- Elden Ring (FromSoftware) — Metacritic 94; ~835K Steam recommendations. Legacy dungeons and a horseback map that still hides bosses years on.
- Cyberpunk 2077 (CD PROJEKT RED) — Metacritic 86; ~909K recommendations. Night City after Phantom Liberty is a finished RPG city, not a tech demo.

Fantasy and exploration cruise
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (Bethesda) — Metacritic 74; ~223K recommendations. Still the default fantasy sandbox on PC.
- Hogwarts Legacy (Avalanche / Warner) — Metacritic 83; ~278K recommendations. School grounds plus a highland open map built for broom tours.
- No Man’s Sky (Hello Games) — Metacritic 61 (launch hangover on the aggregate); ~319K recommendations and a years-long free update path that remade the expedition loop.
Match the world to the GPU

Why these five
We left out live-service maps that reboot every season and Early Access sandboxes whose 1.0 shape is still moving. The five above either shipped a finished loop or spent years proving the update cadence (No Man’s Sky).
