Start at the mods filter
The best Stardew Valley mods for most players are the ones that make the valley clearer or larger — not a pile of one-off curios. We keep a live board on Stardew Valley mods filter and a dated shortlist at best Stardew Valley mods list. What follows names those same Nexus-linked mods in our own words.

Download only from the authors
GearChamber does not host mod files. Download only from the original Nexus pages linked above or from our best list. We do not publish install steps or load-order charts — each mod’s own page covers how it fits your farm.
Stardew is gentle on hardware; if you are building a new PC for other games beside the farm, PC Builder still helps you size the tower.
Mods that pair well on the farm
Content Patcher and SMAPI are the usual foundation under bigger valley packs. Stardew Valley Expanded is the large content pack most players mean when they want new maps and story; Lookup Anything and NPC Map Locations sit beside it as readability tools when the map gets busy. Generic Mod Config Menu helps when several packs expose in-game toggles — open each mod’s Nexus page for what it actually changes before you mix them.
After a Stardew patch, re-open the Nexus pages linked above and confirm each mod still lists a build that matches your game version. Back up your save folder before a big expansion weekend. We do not host mod files; download only from the author’s Nexus page.
