Under eight dollars, for now
Steam has Dead by Daylight’s base game at $7.99, down 60% from $19.99, and the clock is short: the store page shows a special promotion that ends at about 18:00 UTC today, which is about 20:00 SAST. We checked the US store at around 10:20 SAST on Monday 2 November 2026.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game. Four Survivors try to escape a Killing Ground while one Killer hunts them. Survivors play in third person and the Killer plays in first person on the Steam page. It first came out on 14 June 2016, and Steam lists it for Windows.
Our view: if you’ve been meaning to try it, this is the price to stop meaning. At $7.99 the base game is a small bet on a game that has been around since 2016. It’s built around other people, so you’ll need a connection and some tolerance for being chased by strangers.

The deal is on the base game only. Steam lists the Gold Edition separately at $69.99 with no discount shown, and a Commercial License at $19.99. Don’t assume the promotion covers either. If you want the Killers and Survivors the Gold Edition bundles, read the page before you click.
If horror co-op is your thing, we also covered The Outlast Trials on Steam and, for something single-player, Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake. Those are separate offers with their own prices and end dates, so check each store page. The same goes for Resident Evil Requiem.
Price checked on Steam on 2 November 2026; promotions can change or end early. The page lists the price in US dollars, and your local checkout may differ. Our call: buy it before 20:00 SAST or leave it.
