Ten months late
007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, IO Interactive announced on October 14. That’s almost ten months after the May 27, 2026 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and pre-orders are open now.
Why it took this long
The Switch 2 version was delayed a month before the May launch on other platforms, then slipped again last month to March 2027, Polygon notes. IO says it will “use the coming months to continue refining the game’s optimisation and performance on Nintendo Switch 2,” and that hands-on builds at gamescom and Tokyo Game Show got a positive response.
According to Polygon, the $69.99 Deluxe Edition includes gold gadgets and four Tacsim mission skins: Day of the Dead, Desert Explorer, Silent Anchor and Gentleman Operator. An Amazon-exclusive Specialist Edition adds a Classic Tuxedo skin.
Nintendo Life points out that the recent free update, which added New Game+ and photo mode, should be in the Switch 2 release at launch.

The catch
IO hasn’t published resolution or frame-rate targets for Switch 2 yet, and Gematsu’s report confirms only the date, trailer and pre-orders. Until there’s footage of a final build, the GoldenEye Suit is the clearest thing you get for ordering early.
