Arkheron’s Early Access lands on PC and console the same day

Bonfire Studios’ team PvP game opens Early Access on 27 November across Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with weekly reveals planned until launch.

One date, three platforms

Bonfire Studios isn’t staging Arkheron’s Early Access debut in waves. Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S all sit under the same headline and the same date: the Tower opens on 27 November 2026. The studio announced it on its own site on 29 October 2026, and Games Press carried the same text that day.

Arkheron is a fast-paced, isometric PvP game, in the studio’s words, where teams of three fight through the Tower, collect items that shape their builds and take on rival teams. The Steam page lists Bonfire Studios as developer, with Bonfire Studios and DRIMAGE as publishers, and tags it as Online PvP with Cross-Platform Multiplayer. We think that is the right way to launch a game that asks you to bring two friends: a lobby that splits by platform before it has even started is a bad look for a team game.

A studio admitting it isn’t finished

The announcement is unusually frank. Arkheron is “still in development and a long way from the competitive experience we want it to be at 1.0,” the studio says, and the to-do list includes making the game easier to learn and fights easier to read, adding depth to Ascension and Spires, building out progression, and improving matchmaking, performance and stability.

Those two modes are the ones Steam describes. In Spires, a team of three faces one other team and climbs floor by floor with a limited number of tries before the run resets. Ascension is billed as the main event: fifteen teams of three drop into the Tower together, and the field gets smaller every floor. Loot comes as Relics, and collecting all four from one set turns you into an Eternal with a fifth ability, according to the store page.

What the weekly drip will cover

Bonfire says it will have new announcements every week between now and 27 November. The list it gives: the Early Access Eternal roster, including a new Eternal; details of the Early Access editions and ways to bring your community in, which the studio says will include a Friend Pass; Prologue, described as the start of Arkheron’s narrative arc, with a first Collection, quests and other ways to experience the world; and a live event to kick off Opening Weekend.

What isn’t in any of that is a price or the contents of any edition. Neither the announcement nor the Steam page lists one, so we won’t guess. A firm date is the minimum a studio owes players; Witchbrook’s January date arrived with a price attached, and Arkheron’s buyers are still waiting on the second half of that deal. We’d want the edition breakdown before calling this a launch we can recommend.

The Steam page does offer a playtest request button, for anyone who wants a look before the Tower opens. We made a similar argument about trying before committing in our piece on Crimson Desert’s DLC and its free trial, and the same instinct applies here.

For PC players, the Steam listing gives minimum requirements of Windows 10 or later, an Intel Core i5-9600K (or equivalent 6-core), 8 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB and 25 GB of storage. Recommended is an Intel Core i7-9700K (or equivalent 8-core), 12 GB of RAM and an Nvidia RTX 2070 8GB. Early Access builds change, so treat those as the current listing. Steam also shows full controller support, and says the game plays the same on a controller as on mouse and keyboard.

The next thing to watch is the first of those weekly announcements, and whether the Friend Pass turns out to be as generous as its name. The Tower opens on 27 November.
