Legacy Games, the casual publisher whose online store sold games under the slogan “Amazing games. Incredible value. Yours to keep forever.”, is closing that store on December 31, 2026. Its website and servers follow on February 28, 2027, the last day buyers can download anything they paid for.

What “forever” turns out to mean

According to GamesIndustry.biz, games that are already installed will keep running as long as they stay on the same device. Delete one, change PCs, or have a drive fail, and that purchase is gone for good. Free games claimed through Amazon Luna follow the same rule and must be downloaded before the February date.

Legacy Games was founded in 1998 and specialises in hidden object games and other casual genres. Its store opened in 2020 and offered more than 1,000 titles, mostly as multi-game bundles, and the company also sold physical discs with digital codes at Walmart and on Amazon. It hasn’t given a reason for the closure, beyond thanking customers for being “part of the Legacy Games story.”

If you bought from Legacy Games

  1. Sign in on legacygames.com before February 28, 2027, and download every installer you own, not only the games you play now.
  2. Keep the installer files on a second drive or backup, because the store won’t serve them again after that date.
  3. Claim and download any Amazon Luna freebies tied to Legacy Games before the same deadline.

Small storefronts close more often than the big three, and their buyers rarely get more than a few months’ warning. Legacy’s customers get about two and a half months before sales stop and two more to save what they own, which is more than most, and still less than the slogan promised.
