72% off on Steam
Sons Of The Forest, Endnight Games’ cannibal-island survival horror, is 72% off on Steam’s US store: $8.39 against the usual $29.99. Price checked on Steam on 29 October 2026, 07:41 SAST.
Steam labels it a “SPECIAL PROMOTION” and says the offer ends November 2. The page lists a single purchase option, the base game, so there is no edition to second-guess. We’d treat that date as a hard stop rather than wait for a better price.
Very Positive from more than 119,000 reviews
Steam shows Very Positive for its English reviews, more than 119,000 of them, and Very Positive again for recent reviews, about 3,000. It launched in Early Access on 23 February 2023, and the full release followed on 22 February 2024. Steam lists Endnight Games as developer and Newnight as publisher, and bills it as coming from the makers of The Forest.

The pitch is to craft, build and survive, alone or with friends, and Steam lists online co-op. That’s the part we’d pay $8.39 for. If you’ve been working through survival-crafting games, such as Enshrouded after its 1.0 release, this is a cheap way to add a much darker one.
Windows only, 20 GB, and a GTX 1060 at the floor
Steam lists Windows only. The minimum is 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, 12 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB or Radeon RX 570 4GB, DirectX 11 and 20 GB of storage, with an SSD preferred. The recommended spec steps up to a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce 1080Ti or Radeon RX 5700 XT. If your main drive is tight, our guide to moving Steam games to another drive without redownloading them will save you a lot of waiting.

One more thing before you click. The developers describe the content like this: “Sons Of The Forest contains intense violence, blood and gore, as well as horror themes and occasional nudity.” It isn’t for everyone, and the discount doesn’t change that.
This is US-store pricing, so your regional price may differ. Another Steam sale we’ve covered, The Walking Dead’s Telltale Definitive Series, runs a few days longer, but this one’s clock runs out first. If survival horror is your thing, we’d buy it before the November 2 cut-off; if it isn’t, $8.39 won’t change that.
