Razer Barracuda V2 Pro adds hybrid ANC, dual wireless and 70-hour battery to a 285 g headset

Razer’s new wireless headset runs 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth at the same time and swaps between a boom and built-in mics, but there’s no price yet.

A headset for PC and phone

Razer has announced the Barracuda V2 Pro, a wireless headset meant to cover both a gaming PC and a phone: hybrid active noise cancellation, simultaneous 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth audio, a detachable boom mic, and up to 70 hours of battery in a 285 g fold-flat frame, according to its announcement.

Two radios at once is the useful part

Razer says its HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz link is “up to twice as fast as Bluetooth LE”, and a SmartSwitch button flips between that and Bluetooth. The bigger convenience is that both can play at the same time, so a Discord call or music from a phone can sit under game audio from the PC dongle. Razer lists PC, mobile, console and handheld support, and the dongle stores inside the headset.

The mic setup is split by context: the detachable boom for PC sessions and squad chat, internal beamforming mics when you’re out with the boom left at home. AI noise cancellation works on both.

THX Spatial Audio+ adds four virtual overhead channels for 7.1.4, but Razer says that only unlocks when the headset is connected to a PC.

“Gamers want one headset that keeps up with their whole day, and the Barracuda V2 Pro is our answer,” said Barrie Ooi, head of Razer’s PC gaming division, in the release carried by TechPowerUp.

What Razer hasn’t said

The announcement doesn’t give a price, a release date or a battery figure with ANC switched on, and Razer hasn’t published frequency response or ANC depth figures. It also doesn’t say whether “up to 70 hours” was measured with ANC on or off. Razer’s product page has the full feature rundown.

Who should buy, and who should wait

  • Consider it if you want one headset for your desk and your commute, and you keep a phone on Bluetooth while gaming on PC.
  • Wait for reviews if ANC quality matters most. Razer hasn’t published any figures for it.
  • Skip it if you only play on a PS5 or Xbox and want spatial audio. THX Spatial Audio+ is PC-only.

Without a price, the Barracuda V2 Pro is a spec sheet aimed at a crowded segment. Simultaneous dual wireless and a removable boom are the parts that set it apart, and the price will decide whether that’s enough.
