Four million in three days
Four million copies in 72 hours is the kind of number that makes a launch week look like a victory lap. S-GAME says Phantom Blade Zero got there, and it did it with a wuxia action RPG that asks players to learn its combat.
The studio announced the milestone on the official Phantom Blade Zero account on X, according to Inven Global and RPG Site. The post, as RPG Site carries it, reads: “Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies in just 72 hours!” It adds: “Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!” The game launched on 29 October 2026.

RPG Site says the 4 million figure covers PS5 and PC combined. Inven Global puts it as cumulative sales exceeding 4 million units. Neither report gives a split between platforms, and neither gives revenue, so for now this is a publisher figure with no breakdown behind it.
Scores and Steam crowds back it up
Inven Global adds a second data point: a peak of more than 830,000 concurrent players on Steam during launch weekend, which it dates to 1 November. As of 2 November, Inven lists the game at 88 on Metacritic and 89 on OpenCritic, with a “Very Positive” overall rating from Steam users. That lines up with our Phantom Blade Zero review roundup, where critics landed on an 89 and the remaining arguments were about the bosses.

We think the pairing matters more than either number alone. Big sales can fade fast when the reception is cold; big sales alongside scores near 90 and a Very Positive Steam rating suggest word of mouth is working for S-GAME rather than against it. That is our reading, not something either outlet claims.
It also says something about appetite for serious action RPGs this season. Critics have been busy elsewhere in the genre too, as our Final Fantasy Resonance roundup shows.
What we’d like to see next is S-GAME’s platform split. The studio hasn’t offered one, and a physical PS5 edition isn’t due until 2027, so digital numbers will carry this story for a while.
